How To Calculate a Barrel
Volume Calculation
The volume of a barrel is calculated using the formula:
\[ \text{Volume} = \frac{h \times \pi \times \left(1.25 \times r_2^2 + r_1^2\right)}{3} \]
or
\[ \text{Volume} = \frac{h \times \pi \times \left(2 \times r_2^2 + r_1^2\right)}{3} \]
Where:
- h = Barrel height
- r1 = Top/Bottom radius
- r2 = Middle radius
- The difference in this formula is a larger multiple applied to the middle radius.
